Garden City Park, NY: Many delightful words were spoken, written, and read yesterday (Sun., April 29, 2018) at the 4th annual WordUp Long Island LitFest hosted by the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, New York.
Pictured below (from left to right) are: Square One's award-winning journalist and children's literature author Liza N. Burby (holding her new "Second Edition" version of How to Publish Your Children's Book ISBN: 978-0-7570-0409-4 / former edition's ISBN: 978-0-7570-0036-2); WordUp LitFest founder/producer Claudia Gryvatz Copquin; and Square One president (and also author) Rudy Shur, who is holding the new "Second Edition" version of his own book, How to Publish Your Nonfiction Book (ISBN: 978-0-7570-0430-8 / former edition's ISBN: 978-0-7570-0000-3).
Burby and Shur led a well-attended panel discussion together on the shared topics of children's and nonfiction bookbookone publishing here in a digital-heavy twenty-first century. They were joined throughout the day by a select gathering of accomplished and award-winning writers including: Annabelle Gurwitch (Wherever You Go, There You Are); husband-wife writers David Denby (Lit Up) and Susan Rieger (The Heirs); Meg Wolitzer (The Female Persuasion) ; SNL alum and multiple Emmy-winning producer/writer Alan Zweibel (The Other Shulman, Bunny Bunny; Long Island Representative Steve Israel (Big Guns); Tom Clavin (Dodge City); Alyson Richman (The Lost Wife); and Barry Dougherty (The Friars Club Encyclopedia of Jokes), who served as emcee for the day's events.
